At EET Fuels, we’re passionate about creating a sustainable future. Our commitment? Transforming the Stanlow Manufacturing Complex into the UK’s first low-carbon process refinery.
Investment for Change: We’re investing $2.4 billion over the next five years. This isn’t just about numbers—it’s about reducing emissions and making a real impact.
Leading the Way: We’re proud to be among the first low-carbon refineries globally. Our goal? To set the global benchmark for more efficient refineries.
Cutting-Edge Technology: Our journey involves three critical phases:
This investment ensures the sustainability of this critical national asset, supporting high value employment, UK energy security resilience and the economy of the North West.
Consultation on New Industrial Carbon Capture Unit
EET Fuels is playing a key role in the UK’s plans to reduce emissions and contribute to the UK’s goal of being the first major economy to set a ‘net zero’ emissions target. It will also significantly contribute to reducing the carbon emissions of the Cheshire West and Chester sub-region, playing in a key role on the delivery of its climate emergency response plan.
We are excited to announce our plans to build a new Industrial Carbon Capture (ICC) unit. This innovative project aims to capture the carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions generated by our existing Fluid Catalytic Cracker (FCC) unit. By implementing this technology, we will significantly reduce emissions, including almost entirely removing other contaminants such as particulate matter, Sulfur Oxides (SOx), and Nitrogen Oxides (NOx).

Additionally, we plan to construct a new carbon monoxide boiler with a similar configuration to our current one at Stanlow Refinery, ensuring continued efficiency and environmental responsibility.
We invite you to participate in our consultation process and share your feedback on this important initiative. Your input is valuable to us as we strive to enhance our environmental impact and operational excellence.

Before submitting the planning application, EET Fuels is giving local people and stakeholders the chance to share their feedback on the proposals by holding a 5 week public consultation between 4 December 2024 and 10 January 2025.
