Stanlow, 11 February 2022: National Apprenticeship Week 2022 being held from 7th to 13th February 2022 brings together everyone passionate about apprenticeships to celebrate the value, benefit, and opportunity that apprenticeships bring.
The theme for this year’s National Apprenticeship Week 2022 is ‘Build the Future’ and Essar as a leading player in the UK’s Oil and Chemical Industry is committed to looking for talented and enthusiastic apprentices to join them at the Stanlow refinery in Ellesmere Port and play a part in building a low carbon future.
Mark Pennifold, Chief People Officer at Essar said, “We are delighted to announce that this year our engineering apprentices at Essar have qualified and been offered opportunities within the organisation. The work that our 15 apprentices, all in their early twenties, have put in over the last few years has been immense but it has paid off. When times were tough during the pandemic the apprentices were fortunate to be able to continue with no breaks in their training. This builds on our approach last year of securing roles for all apprenticeships, where we were not able to offer suitable roles at our company.”
The dedication and hard work put in by the apprentices has ended in the success and achievement in the following qualifications:
BTEC Level 3 Science Industry Maintenance technician
BTEC Level 3 Science Manufacturing technician
NVQ Level 3 Diploma in process/maintenance engineering
Essar’s continued commitment to becoming the UK’s first low carbon refinery follows the launch of Vertex Hydrogen last month, a new Essar-led joint venture, in which the company will invest £1 billion over the next five years to drive down emissions, including the development of new hydrogen production plants at Stanlow, forming a central part of the HyNet North West decarbonisation cluster.
As a leading player in the UK’s Oil and Chemical Industry, an apprenticeship with Essar is the ideal way to start your career. We are looking for talented and enthusiastic apprentices to join us at the Stanlow refinery in Ellesmere Port and play a part in building our future. This year we are recruiting for roles in the Engineering and Manufacturing (in partnership with local training provider TTE), IT, Commercial and Business Administration areas of our company.
